We are all different types of people with different personalities but the fear of success (or inversely, the fear of failure) comes to us all. So, I ‘d like to share with you a few tips to overcome the fear of success, but keep in mind that everyone has to find the best one that works for them individually.
The first thing to do is acknowledge the fear. Realize that it’s okay to be afraid of success; most successful people have had this fear but they didn’t allow it to stop them. So acknowledge it and push through it to success.
Know that there are many underlying reasons during our developmental years that can attribute to us developing this fear,…….and it can also be the fear of the unknown.
When you think of becoming successful at something that you have set your heart and mind to do. And you start to become fearful, ask yourself. “what’s the worst that can happen?” …….and more often, than not, you‘ll realize the fear is irrational.
So I would suggest to you;…
Write down what you want. Five years from now, 1 year from now, 6 months from now, 3 months from now, and so on… Keep a journal and return to it, reread it and tweak it when necessary . then break down the daily tasks to achieve it. There’s something about writing it down that helps it sink in more positively. It’s like having a contract with yourself.
Allow yourself some quiet time, even just a few moments a day, like 5 minutes, and visualize yourself being successful at whatever it is you desire to do. Try to get a clear of a picture as possible then set aside time daily to focus on it.
Then I would suggest, don’t worry about the past , and don’t worry about the future. …Live in the now. “ Live Right Now …….and Just do it!
focus on the things that can be done TODAY to bring you closer to your goals.
See yourself successful when you accomplish the things that you set out to do for that day. Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many tasks. One or two tasks daily towards your goal is sufficient. And when you complete them, know that you are “the Winner for the day”.
The human brain is really amazing, as time goes on and you complete your daily task and you’re taking time out to focus on your intended goal, your fears will subside and you’ll find that you have not only won the battle of the “Fear of Success” but you have won the war.!!!
All the best to you out there..
